6/2/08 - Ok, First I'd like to thank, and also apologize to, everyone who managed to get an entry in on time. It is as a courtesy to those individuals that I am extending the try-out entry dead-line, otherwise I'd be forced to cancel the competition due to the poor turn-out.
Even after relaxing the entry requirements for those who complained they where too demanding, we still have a too short a line-up.
So I'm extending the deadline until Friday the 6th, midnight.

Ok, there been some talk about 1 page of sequentials as an audition submission being too much.
I asked for that because I was trying to encourage some people I think have great ideas to actually generate a page of work with their character whether they wind up participating in the challenge or not. But I don't want to overwhelm or discourage anyone either so the submission does not have to be inked and colored or can be a pin-up, but must show your hero in action.

and were trying to decide who’s OC was the most powerful and it gave me an idea.
So, here’s the deal. I want to host an original character competition. This will be a little bit different than some of the OC battles you may have encountered.

First, the concept is that each original character must be the top hero in their own comic book universe, as Vector is in the Rodcom universe. He/She will fight along side the others characters against a threat common to all their worlds.

Second, all participants must be willing to draw all the other participants’ characters in their own chapter in a continuing story, 2-4 pages of continuity.

Third, real prizes!
3rd prize- 3 month DA subscription
2nd prize- An Original Vindicators Hyper-combo grab bag [link] , plus a 3 month subscription
1st prize- $50 cash, a Vindicators Hyper-combo grab bag, plus a 3 month subscription

There will be 12 slots. To enter you must submit a character sheet and at least 1 page of sequentials introducing your character abilities. That means at least one finished page, pencils, inks, and colors (or grey-tones) or a pin-up of your character in action. You can use previous pages as long they show of your OC’s abilities. Commissioned work is allowed, but the OC and script must be yours!

Submissions are due Friday, the 6th, midnight.
I'll post the 12 competitors and the entry order the following day.
I’ll then post the opening chapter, after that the first competitor will have 2 weeks to get their entry in, after that the next competitor will have 2 weeks, etc., etc...
I’ll then wrap the story with the closing chapter and announce the winners.
The coolest thing is at the end of the contest I’ll put the whole thing together as a comic and all participants will get a copy.
These will not be for sale or anything, everyone will retain ownership of their characters. This is for fun and the experience.
Entries will be judged on story-telling, completeness of work, and the ability to show all characters, including your own, at their best.
